Spring Camp & Lumberjack Competition

Our annual spring camp at Camp Samac was full of activities, as our Scouts demonstrated their knowledge, understanding, and proper application of skills in a Lumberjack Competition. Starting the weekend off with constructing makeshift kitchen shelters, the Scouts quickly formulated plans about how to obtain the most points possible so that their patrols could win awards for "Best Campsite" and "Lumberjack Competition Champions."

Throughout the weekend, the Scouts enjoyed activities that included:

- running the obstacle course

- timed log splitting and sawing

- nail drive

- log roll

- log toss

- firelighting

- creating a throne using scavenged materials and lashing techniques

- archery

- an epic game of Capture the Flag
