Knots

Knots are a very important aspect of Scouting. Knots can be used for anything from tying a pile of sticks together to keeping you safe when rock climbing. Need to rescue someone who fell into a deep pit? No problem! Tying a series of knots properly will allow you to pull them back out safety without taking the risk of the knot tightening and cutting off circulation.

InnerBark Outdoors features a fantastic tutorial that explains how to properly tie a series of knot and what they can be used for. Enjoy!

About Us

Helen and Dave are volunteer Scouters with the 27th Oshawa Scouts. We are Troop Scouters and Venturer Advisors whose philosophy is to teach by example, and to allow the youth to learn through experiential learning.

We created and maintain this website to ensure that you are kept informed about Scouting events, and so that you can see what our youth are up to throughout the year.

If you have any fun ideas or activities that you would like to share, or if you would like to meet with us to discuss our program, please contact us at 27thOshawaScouts@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
