Scouts go Rock Climbing

The month of February was a busy one as the Scouts learned a variety of knots and their uses. To demonstrate why it is so essential to tie knots properly, the Scouts went rock climbing. Here, the Scouts learned that tying a knot properly could save you from a nasty fall.

The knots that we practiced this month were:

  • Figure 8 knot and double Figure 8 knot

  • Fisherman's knot and Double Fisherman's knot

  • Reef knot

  • Bowline

  • Clove Hitch

  • Half Hitch

  • Round Turn
